Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows how to extract samples from the Reason refill packs out there? I've been slowly migrating over to Ableton and would like to use some of the individual.wav hits from within a refill pack. I'm using Reason 4.0 and a mac. There are some supposed unpackers I've found on the net but I don't trust the sources.Would anyone suggest or recommend I just resample the sounds into ableton as.wav files and be done with it?

Refill Unpacker Software Inno Setup Unpacker v.0.36 Inno Setup Unpacker is a simple, easy to use piece of software designed to be a unpacker for installations made with Inno Setup. How can i take files out of a reason refill? Like dr rex files, without having. Yup refills are the biggest fuk up from the props. Theyre nice n all but not being able to unpack them is really unforgivable!!! I'm using OSX anyway.
- As this would be more tome consuming, however my main concern is just extracting a small but decent collection while getting the same quality or fidelity as the original!I know there's a windows based unpacker in the reason Q&A thread found in link below, but any for the mac?Thx dub peepz. Yamaz wrote:Right on, how big of an install is that? And did you use the.exe in the reason q&A thread that futures untold linked?well you need to install vmare fusion which doesn't take up much space at all.then you'll need to find yourself a copy of windows. This is what takes up the space, though you can assign a specific amount of hd space to it. The one on my computer takes up around 8-15gbs. But at the same time, you could just delete it after using it if you're really that desperate to extract the reason files.i did this with over 50,000 rx.2 files about 2 years ago. It worked really well.
I forget where i got my copy from (i'm not even sure i've still got it). If you need a copy of it, i'll have a look and upload it if i've still got it. I'm not promising anything though.EDIT: and yes, like the above poster mentions, you need to have reason 2 installed on the windows system for it to work. Reason 3/4 ect will not work. Nitz wrote:Bootcamp from Apple?Install your XP onto the mac, then, install the unpacker, extract, job finishedyea there would be no problem with doing it this way either. And in fact it wouldn't cost you anything (provided you have a copy of windows and your mac comes with bootcamp installed). But using a virtual like vmware is so much better.
Plus it will make it that much easier to take the finished samples from windows back to os x. If i was apple, that's what i'd be looking to make for the OS (allowing bootcamp to run as a virtual pc without having to use third party software).
